Product detailed description

PPS is a semi-crystalline high-performance thermoplastic that excels in extreme chemical and thermal resistance. In the world of 3D printing, it is known as a material that "does not destroy anything" - it is naturally non-flammable and resistant to almost all known solvents at temperatures below 200 ° C. It is an ideal choice for components that come into contact with aggressive chemistry or operate in environments with temperatures that would immediately deform conventional plastics.
Key Features
• Exceptional heat resistance: Withstands temperatures up to 240 °C for a short time, and works at 200 °C for a long time without losing its properties.
• Absolute chemical resistance: Resists acids, alkalis, fuels and technical fluids. There is practically no common solvent that would damage PPS at room temperature.
• Natural non-flammability (UL94 V-0): PPS is inherently fireproof without the need to add toxic flame retardants.
• Excellent dimensional stability: It has very low water absorption and a low coefficient of thermal expansion, which guarantees the accuracy of parts even in extreme conditions.
• High rigidity and strength: It exhibits excellent mechanical properties comparable to metal alloys while maintaining low weight.
Recommended Print Settings
• Nozzle Temperature: 300 - 340 °C (requires full metal hotend with high temperature sensor).
• Bed Temperature: 120 - 150 °C.
• Chamber Temperature: Required (minimum 60 - 90 °C). PPS requires controlled cooling to properly crystallize and not crack.
• Bed Surface: PEI sheet or special adhesives for high temperature plastics are recommended.

Technical parameters
Parameter

Base material
Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS)
Melting temperature
~285 °C
Heat distortion temperature (HDT)
~110 - 240 °C (depending on post-processing)
Density
1.35 g/cm³
Moisture absorption
< 0.05% (almost zero)
Suitable applications
1. Chemical industry: Pumps, valves, seals and components exposed to aggressive substances.
2. Automotive and aerospace industry: Fuel system components, holders in hot engine zones.
3. Electrical engineering: Connectors, coil housings and parts exposed to high voltage and heat.
Note: PPS is a material intended for professional and industrial 3D printers. Due to the high printing temperatures and the need for a heated chamber, it is not suitable for common hobby equipment.
Do you have a high-temperature printer (nozzle over 300°C) available, or are you planning to upgrade your machine for this material?
